Impact of cultural norms, stereotypes and strategies to promote positive representation of women in society.

Global Woman's Foundation (GWF) is thrilled to announce an enlightening panel discussion scheduled for May 23, 2024, at the prestigious India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The event, themed "Challenging Gender Stereotypes and Biases for Women's Empowerment: Impact of Cultural Norms, Stereotypes, and Strategies to Promote Positive Representation of Women in Society," promises to be a transformative dialogue aimed at driving tangible change.

From 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm, we will gather 100 distinguished women and men leaders from diverse backgrounds and professions, united in their commitment to gender equality and empowerment. Through insightful discussions and shared experiences, we aim to deepen our understanding of the profound impact cultural norms and stereotypes have on women's empowerment. Moreover, we will explore effective strategies to dismantle these barriers and champion the positive representation of women in society.

At GWF, we firmly believe that by challenging outdated paradigms and fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect, we can create a more equitable world where every individual, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to thrive. By harnessing the collective wisdom and passion of our participants, we aspire to catalyze meaningful change and pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future.

Join us as we embark on this transformative journey towards a world where every woman is empowered to realize her full potential, and where diversity and inclusion are celebrated as cornerstones of progress. Together, let us shape a future where equality knows no bounds.

The Future Woman Leader Class Program is a unique initiative designed to identify and train the next generation of women leaders in India. The program aims to bring together 50 outstanding women from diverse backgrounds, including 25 businesswomen, 15 women from civil society and 10 women from the bureaucracy. This is the first program of its kind in India that brings together women from different sectors, creating a dynamic platform for cross-learning and collaboration.

The selection process for the Future Woman Leader Class Program is rigorous and competitive. A board of experts intensively evaluates each application based on a set of criteria. The candidates would be chosen based on their leadership potential, accomplishments and their continued engagement and commitment towards making a positive impact in their respective fields.<br>
Once selected, the 50 women undergo an intensive training program, which includes both classroom sessions and experiential learning. The program is designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to lead in the future such as strategic thinking, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and emotional intelligence. The training is led by expert trainers who are leaders in their respective fields bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience.

The aim of Future Woman Leader Class Program is to assimilate and espouse a rich diversity of exceptional women from different sectors creating a unique platform for cross-learning and collaboration. The pool of 25 businesswomen will represent a wide range of industries, including finance, healthcare, technology and education. 15 women from the civil society are leaders of non-profit organisations, social enterprises and community-based initiatives, working on a range of issues, from gender equality to environmental sustainability. 10 women from the bureaucracy will represent various government departments and agencies.

Mentorship

GWF offers Mentorship Program that is unique and participant-oriented. It is one of its kind wherein emerging women professionals are paired-up with experienced women leaders, who become their mentors and offer guidance and support that will help the participant professionally. The program aims to render guidance, support and valuable connections to help the participant achieve their goals.

Academic support program for woman scholars

We believe that women's contributions to research are essential for the progress of science and technology, and our program strives to create an enabling environment for them to succeed. The Academic Support Program aims to provide support to women researchers who face obstacles in continuing their research due to a lack of funding or other resources. The initiative aims at bridging the gender gap that exists in research which often leads to a lack of diverse perspectives and experiences in academia. The programme offers a range of support services including mentorship, research assistance, writing support and access to resources and funding opportunities.
Our program collaborates with research institutions, foundations and other organisations to identify funding opportunities and provide resources to support women researchers.

ChangeMakers Hub

These hubs are a global community of inspiring women who are making a difference in their communities and beyond. We believe that women have the power to create positive change in the world and the Change Makers Hub provides a platform for women to connect, collaborate and empower each other.
Our hubs are located in different cities around the world providing opportunities for women to share their stories, connect with others and amplify their voices. The hubs partner with organisations, businesses and other stakeholders to create opportunities for women to engage with the wider community and create positive change.

Networking events

GWF’s regular Networking Events aim to build a dynamic and a robust network of women-to-women connections. Despite having a large professional network, it sometimes gets pertinent to have ones-own inner circle of support system who go an extra mile to listen, suggest and share without judgement, redresses challenges faced, thus establishing a long-term relationship for the participants. It is an opportunity to hear from professionals and peers in similar fields on several issues and topics. Regular networking events will take place across the globe, organized by members in various cities. Collaborated Workshops, Hackathons, Cross-Platform Networking, to mention a few will provide insight into the support-based networking offered by GWF.

GWF Clubs

GWF Clubs are formed through personal liking and interests. One can always group with individuals who enjoy the same passion. There is a club for the dancer in you, a club for the trekker in you, a club for the singer in you, a club for the painter in you, a club for the play writer in you and many more. While these clubs offer recreational activities to participants, these also set the stage and scope for furthering one’s passion. The motive is to pursue one’s passion and interest that has taken a backseat due to professional commitments. The clubs will also have experts and patrons in varied forms of arts and interests from among the mentors and teachers who will guide and support the club members to showcase their passion and interest at various venues and events.
Join us and become part of a global community of women who are changing the world!
